Membranas de ósmosis directa (FO)
El gradiente de presión que impulsa el proceso se genera naturalmente por la tendencia del disolvente a permear hacia el lado de la membrana con la mayor concentración de soluto. Confiar en esta tendencia natural significa que la FO requiere presiones mucho más bajas que otros procesos de membrana para funcionar (como la ósmosis inversa) y, en consecuencia, menores requisitos de energía.
Las membranas de lámina plana FTS H 2 O™ están compuestas de celulosa y son poco contaminantes. Pueden procesar sales precipitantes y compuestos orgánicos polimerizados con un impacto mínimo en el proceso.
